Are You Complaining to Death
Are you complaining to death? I don’t mean a death like the Children of Israel experience. I’m speaking of an inner death–the death of your joy, your peace, and your patience. If we aren’t careful, like the children of Israel we can find ourselves buried in the place of our complaining.
DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?
Do you all know the true story of Lazaus? Mary, her sister Martha and brother Lazarus were all close friends with Jesus. They shared meals together and Jesus even sat at their house and told them about God, the Father. They had a very close friendship. They believed Jesus was who He claimed to be. They knew He was the Son of God and that the prophecies were true. They knew Him and He knew them.
Emmanuel-Christ With Us
A little over four years ago, the day before the U.S. presidential election, I felt my world turn upside down. I wish I could have blamed the sharp pain in my chest on the contentious political race, but I couldn’t. Instead, I was robotically making my way up the elevator to the ICU, worn out from a morning of distress, talking with a surgeon and--along with my mom and husband--numbly praying with my pastor.
The Trajectory of Brokeness
When my son breaks a toy he brings it to me expecting me to be able to restore it something he can use for his pleasure. He comes to me with hope based on the fact that I have been able in the past to restore his broken toys.
