A New York native, Sharifa earned a bachelor of arts degree from Columbia University before moving to Dallas, Texas, where she received a master of theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. She contributed to the book Vindicating the Vixens: Revisiting Sexualized, Vilified, & Marginalized Women of the Bible. She is a pastor’s wife married to a Renaissance man, and mother to two lively boys.
