Having Sabbath Rest

Season 1: Episode 6

At the beginning of each year, we can tend to make extreme New Year’s Resolutions. As time progresses, because we set high goals and make drastic changes, we find ourselves often ending what we were eager to start within the same month or quarter of beginning. The only problem is, we burnout, with nothing left to continue in God’s good work for our lives.

Episode Highlights

God’s Character:

  • Limitless (He is infinite. He has no bounds).

  • Steadfast Love (Lover of our souls. He desires to give us rest).

  • Everlasting (He is eternal).

Application for Daily Life:

  • If you struggle to rest and be still, ask yourself why?

  • When you don’t have rest it will lead you to resentment. When you have resentment you lack gratitude, and you lack God’s perfect intentions for work, which from the beginning was to be fruitful and multiply

  • Do you know the work that you are called to do and have you accomplished it? Then embrace the freedom and calling to rest.

  • Constantly assess your plans and ask, “Does it match up with the calling, commitment and centrality of God’s will?” When we know what He has called us to “set out to do,” we have confidence to know when it is finished.
